This lack of consistent game time has impacted van de Beek's performance, diminishing the luster he once possessed as a star player in Erik ten Hag's Ajax team.

The midfielder's attempts to revive his career took him to Everton on loan, but the stint did not yield the desired results. Faced with this challenging situation, van de Beek is now actively seeking a fresh start. His eagerness to rejuvenate his career led him to express interest in joining Barcelona. The opportunity arose when Barcelona's rising talent, Gavi, suffered a serious ACL injury. Seizing the moment, van de Beek made it known that he is available to the Catalans if they require his services.

The likelihood of a potential loan move to Barcelona has emerged, given Gavi's significant injury. However, negotiations are reportedly underway with Juventus as well. The Italian giants are contemplating a winter transfer that could bring not only van de Beek but also forward Jadon Sancho from Manchester United. It appears inevitable that van de Beek will part ways with Old Trafford in the winter transfer window, with the destination yet to be determined, whether it be Barcelona, Juventus, or another club expressing interest in the talented midfielder.
